The International Film Festival Rotterdam that started on January 30 in Rotterdam, Netherlands.
The festival started with the movie ‘Febula’ by Mitchell Ten Horn from the Netherlands. On February 9, the festival will end with Indonesian director Mauli Suraiya’s movie ‘This City is a Battlefield’.
Last December it was known that this year’s festival will be the world
premiere of the film ‘Putul Nacher Itiktha’ starring Jaya Ahsan.
The film directed by Suman Mukherjee will compete in the Big Screen Competition section of the festival. The movie was supposed to premiere yesterday.
Actress Jaya Ahsan is already reaching Rotterdam for that purpose.
She informed this news through a post on Facebook. While talking about the movie, its director Sumon Mukherjee said, “I have been planning this movie based on Manik Banerjee’s action novel for 16 years.
It has not ended due to various reasons. At the end, Sameeran Das came forward. I have my infinite gratitude to him.”
It is known that the period from the end of the 30’s to the beginning of the 40’s will come up in the movie ‘Putul Nacher Itikatha’.
In the original novel the time was further back. Director Sumon has brought forward some time to make the story simple for the audience.
Jaya Ahsan acted in the role of Kushum. Abir Chatterjee played the role of Shoshi. There are also Parambrata, Ananya Chatter and Dritiman Chatterjee. Parambrata and Ananya Chatterjee will be seen in special roles in the movie. The movie is scheduled to release in India next May.
