Staff Reporter :
Jatiyo Party (JaPa) Chairman GM Quader relieved three senior leaders – Anisul Islam Mahmud, ABM Ruhul Amin Howlader, and Mujibul Haque Chunnu – from all party posts and positions.
The development came shortly after the appointment of former Gaibandha lawmaker Barrister Shameem Haider Patwary as the new Secretary General of the party.
JaPa Press Secretary Khandaker Delwar Jalali confirmed the development to the media on Monday.
According to a statement issued by the Jatiya Party’s central office, during a views exchange meeting on 25 June, presidents and general secretaries of the district and city units accused Senior Co-Chairman Anisul Islam Mahmud, Co-Chairman ABM Ruhul Amin Howlader, and Mujibul Haque Chunnu of breacing party discipline and demanded disciplinary action against them.
On 28 June, a meeting of the party’s presidium members decided to relieve the three leaders from all positions on grounds of breaching party discipline.
The statement added that the decision to remove the leaders from their posts has already been implemented.
