Chattagram Bureau:
The truth behind the oil disappearance incident has been confirmed due to a calibration glitch in the tank of Jamuna Oil Company’s Fatulla depot. The report of the 6-member investigation committee formed to re-calibrate tanks 22 and 23 of the pipeline project, which was formed in the incident of more than 100,000 liters of diesel missing, has found a huge discrepancy in the said tanks.
After the 6-member committee published their detailed report, the incident of oil disappearance has come under renewed discussion. It is known that after the fuel oil supply operation started on September 14. 15 lakh liters of diesel were pumped from the terminal in Chattagram to be sent to the Fatulla depot. On September 22, oil was received in tanks 22 and 23 of the Fatulla depot. The capacity of tank 22 is 69 lakh 59 thousand 69 liters and the capacity of tank 23 is 50 lakh 47 thousand 977 liters. Although 1.5 million liters of oil were sent in two tanks, a total of 1.12 million liters or 94.95 tons of oil was later found to be less.
The disappearance of a huge amount of oil has created a sensation in the fuel oil sector. It was alleged that a group organized around the Fatullah depot has been embezzling oil worth crores of taka for a long time. In this continuation, more than 100,000 liters of diesel have recently disappeared. After the complaint was raised about the matter, the Jamuna Oil Company sealed tanks number 22 and 23 of the Fatullah depot.
