Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Nayeb-e-Ameer and former lawmaker Professor Mujibur Rahman met with the families of victims of the recent aircraft crash at Milestone College in the capital’s Uttara, urging them to remain patient and not lose hope in this time of crisis.
Professor Rahman visited Nayabari in Uttara around 10:00 PM on Wednesday, where he spoke with grieving family members, offered condolences, and prayed for the departed souls. He also wished a speedy recovery for those who were injured in the tragic incident.
“Death is inevitable and beyond human control,” said the Jamaat leader. “However, the pain of losing a loved one is profound. Allah instructs us to remain patient in times of hardship.”
He further stated that the Ameer-e-Jamaat had pledged support for the families of the victims, and in line with that commitment, the party has sent financial assistance and medical teams to support the injured.
Professor Rahman strongly urged the government to immediately publish a full list of the deceased and injured and ensure adequate compensation for the victims’ families. He also proposed establishing a specialized burn unit at a local hospital in Uttara to improve treatment facilities for the injured.
In response to a journalist’s question, he stressed the importance of uncovering the real reasons behind the crash. “An investigation committee should be formed to identify the actual causes of this tragic incident,” he demanded.
Several senior Jamaat leaders accompanied him during the visit, including Jamaat Central Working Committee member and Dhaka City North Nayeb-e-Ameer Abdur Rahman Musa, City Secretary Dr. Muhammad Rezaul Karim, Assistant Secretary Dr. Fakharuddin Manik, Yeasin Arafat, Central Majlish-e-Shura member Jamal Uddin, Dhaka City North Publicity and Media Secretary Muhammad Ataur Rahman Sarker, and Principal Ashraful Haque, Jamaat’s candidate for Dhaka-18 constituency.
The delegation also joined a special munajat for the deceased and the injured.
