A mass procession and memorandum presentation programme of Sylhet District Jamaat-e-Islami has been held to realize 5-point demands as per the central programme.
At 12:00 am on Sunday, the programmd was held under the initiative of Sylhet District Jamaat-e-Islami presided over by the organization’s Ameer Maulana Habibur Rahman to implement the 5-point demands including the upcoming National Parliament elections based on the July Charter.
As part of this, a mass procession was taken out at Sylhet Central Shaheed Minar.
It circled the main road of the city and ended in front of the Sylhet Deputy Commissioner’s office.
There, a brief rally was held and a memorandum was presented to the Honorable Chief Advisor through the Deputy Commissioner of Sylhet Md. Sarwar Alam Muhammad Selim Uddin, a member of the Central Executive Council of Jamaat and Ameer of Dhaka Metropolitan North Jamaat attend the programme as a chief guest.
Ameer of Metropolitan Jamaat Md. Fakhrul Islam, Nayeb-e-Ameer of District Jamaat Professor Abdul Hannan, Maulana Anwar Hossain Khan, Secretary Joynal Abedin, District Jamaat Shura and Working Committee member Maulana Lokman Ahmed attend the programme as special guest. leaders of the district and metropolitan Jamaat were present the Programme.
In a brief rally, the speakers demanded the issuance of the July National Charter Implementation Order before the national elections to be held in February and a referendum on the order, the introduction of the PR system in both houses of the parliament in the upcoming national elections, ensuring a level playing field for all for free, fair and acceptable elections, making all the atrocities, genocide and corruption of the Fastit government visible for trial, and banning the activities of the Jatiya Party and the 14 parties, which are allies of dictatorship.
Then, the Jamaat leaders handed over the said memorandum to Sylhet Deputy Commissioner of Sylhet Md. Sarwar Alam.
