‘I’ve a plan for Bangladesh,’ says Tarique Rahman

Emphasising the need for maintaining peace, BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman on Thursday said he has a plan for the country and its people.

“We want peace in every possible way…if we remain united we can fulfill the expectations of the people,” he said while addressing party leaders, supporters and the nation at a reception at the 300 Feet road in the capital in the afternoon.

Tarique Rahman said that just as the people of the country achieved independence in 1971, people from all walks of life united in 2024 to protect Bangladesh’s independence and sovereignty. “Today, the people of Bangladesh want to regain their right to speak. They want to get back their right to democracy,” he said, adding that it is time for all to work together to build the country.

“In this country, there are people from the hills and the plains, Muslims, Hindus, Buddhists and Christians. We want to build a safe Bangladesh. In Bangladesh, regardless of whether one is a woman, man or child, everyone should be able to leave home safely and return safely,” he said.

Calling for collective efforts to change the fate of people, Tarique Rahman added, “The people of all religions must work together to build a safer Bangladesh.”
