IUB holds orientation prog

The Admission and Financial Aid office of Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB) hosted an orientation programme for incoming students of the Autumn 2024 semester at the university auditorium in Bashundhara Residential Area.
Didar A Husain, chairman of the Board of Trustees, served as the chief guest at the event.
The program featured a technical session led by Md Anwarul Islam, PhD, registrar of IUB, who welcomed the new students and their parents while outlining the institution’s house rules.
Prof Meherun Ahmed, PhD, dean of the School of Business & Entrepreneurship, Habib Bin Muzaffar, PhD, acting dean of the School of Engineering, Technology and Sciences, Prof Shah M Faruque, PhD, dean of the School of Environment & Life Sciences, Professor Bokhtiar Ahmed, PhD, dean of the School of Liberal Arts & Social Sciences, Prof JMA Hannan, PhD, dean of the School of Pharmacy and Public Health, and Mohammad Nazmuzzaman Bhuian, PhD, dean of the School of Law, were also present.
Prof Assaduzzaman Khan, PhD, acting proctor, emphasized the importance of complying with university rules and policies, encouraging students to make the most of their university experience.
Atif Md Safi, head (in-charge) of the Division of Student Activities, discussed club and extracurricular activities available to students.
Lima Chowdhury, deputy director and head of Admission and Financial Aid, delivered the welcome remarks, while the event was hosted by Priyanka Dey, assistant director of Admissions.
The IUB Music Club provided entertainment during the program, adding to the festive atmosphere of the orientation.
