Md. Mojahidul Islam, IT Reporter of the Daily Ittefaq and Secretary General of the Bangladesh ICT Journalist Forum (BIJF), has been awarded the ‘Excellence in Technology Reporting’ Award for the year 2012. This award recognizes exceptional IT journalism that covers technology across various aspects, including culture, policy, and economic impact. Submissions may include investigations, analyses, and profiles, reported through various formats such as writing, photography, and data visualization.
Judges evaluate the quality of journalism, digital production, use of platforms, engagement, and impact of the coverage. The award also acknowledges work from small, medium, and large newsrooms.
The award was presented by jahangir Kabir Nanok, a member of Parliament of the Government of Bangladesh, during a ceremony at the City IT Fair in Computer City, Agargaon, Dhaka, on January 4, 2012. Among the attendees were Abdullah H. Kafi, Chairman of The Asian-Oceanian Computing Industry Organisation (ASOCIO) and former President of the Bangladesh Computer Samity.
