For not paying the taxes on time Parvin Zaman Moushumi, Rezaul Karim Bapparaj, Nusraat Faria, Sabila Nur and other showbiz personalities’ bank accounts have been frozen by the National
Board of Revenue (NBR).
There is confusion surrounding a person named ‘Nusrat Yasmin Tisha’ on that list.
Many people don’t remember the name of actress Nusrat Imrose Tisha! Several news outlets
published pictorial news mentioning her name.
In such a situation, actress Tisha herself has clarified the matter recently. She said that she
has always paid taxes according to the rules.
Tisha wrote on Facebook, “I am Nusrat Imrose Tisha. I regret to inform you that recently some media outlets have been published misleading news misrepresenting the income tax information
of another person and using my name and photo.
This is completely false and intentional.”
Regarding paying taxes regularly, Tisha also wrote, “I have always paid taxes according to the rules and work honestly as a professional artiste. I hope that our journalist friends will verify the information and publish the news more responsibly in the future.”
According to a notification issued by the NBR’s Tax Zone-12 on June 15, signed by Assistant Tax Commissioner Kazi Rehman Sajid, an order was issued to seize bank accounts of 25 persons on charges of income tax arrears.
This list includes the names of the heroines Moushumi, Shabnam Parvin, Nusraat Faria, Sabila
Nur, film actors Rezaul Karim (Bapparaj), and Ahmed Sharif,
and dance training institution, ‘Nrityanchal’.
