Israel continues bombarding Gaza for an eighth consecutive day, killing at least 23 people in predawn attacks including seven children.
Save the Children says more than 270 children have been killed in the week since Israel resumed attacking Gaza, marking some of “the deadliest days for children since the war began”.
Outrage grows over Israel’s killing of Al Jazeera reporter Hossam Shabat in Gaza and the arrest of Oscar-winning filmmaker Hamdan Ballal in the occupied West Bank.
Gaza’s Health Ministry says at least 50,144 Palestinians are confirmed dead and 113,704 wounded in Israel’s war on Gaza. Gaza’s Government Media Office updated its death toll to more than 61,700, saying thousands of Palestinians missing under the rubble are presumed dead.
