Staff Reporter :

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Tuesday strongly protested against reports published in various media outlets under the title, “Army Chief Faces Anger from Young Army Officers at a Recent Meeting.”

In a rejoinder, the ISPR clarified that the reports were based solely on an article in the Indian newspaper The Week, which it described as both motivated and misleading.

The ISPR urged media outlets to consult them for accurate information regarding internal army matters, according to a press release issued on Tuesday.

The ISPR explained that the meeting in question was a routine internal gathering of the Bangladesh Army, conducted in a cordial and constructive atmosphere, and that it concluded amicably.

The ISPR accused those behind the reports of attempting to tarnish the Bangladesh Army’s image by spreading false information about the professional and patriotic force.

The press release emphasized that the Bangladesh Army expects responsible and objective reporting from the media.

It highlighted that every army member faithfully upholds the chain of command and consistently demonstrates loyalty to it.

The ISPR also called on the media to include statements from all relevant parties in future reports to ensure balanced and accurate news coverage.

The statement concluded with a special request for the media not to create public confusion or inadvertently contribute to the spread of rumors by relying on misinformation from foreign sources.

The Bangladesh Army, according to the ISPR, remains committed to fully cooperating with the news media in disseminating objective and constructive news.
