ISLAMIC UNIVERSITY, KUSHTIA :
Islamic University, the first public University in Bangladesh after independence, celebrated its 45th founding anniversary through various programmes on November 22.
Beginning its journey with only four departments, Islamic University now has 36 departments under eight Faculties. Till date, 14,678 students completed their undergraduate and postgraduate studies from here. A total of 406 teachers, 488 officers, 102 assistant clerks and 149 general clerks are serving the university.
Besides, the university provided 624 PhD and 788 MPhil degrees. Currently it has 164 PhD and 47 MPhil students.
Every year on the foundation day, the university is decorated with vibrant colors.
Unlike every year, this year’s celebration had been postponed as the vice-chancellor Professor Dr Nakib Muhammad Nasrullah was on a visit to Indonesia for attending a seminar.
The university a discussion in remembrance of the July-August mass upsurge on November 25 in presence of the VC. A cultural function is also scheduled to be held on the day.
Moreover, an exhibition on education and research will also be organized by the departments. They will showcase their research activities there.
