The International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) has distanced itself from former member Chinmoy Krishna Das, stating that he was expelled from the organization long ago due to violations of organizational discipline.
ISKCON clarified that it does not bear responsibility for any statements or activities made by Chinmoy Krishna Das following his expulsion.
In a press conference held at the Swamibagh Ashram on Thursday, Charu Chandra Das Brahmachari, the General Secretary of ISKCON Bangladesh, stated that Chinmoy Krishna Das had been removed from all positions within the organization for “controversial activities,” including allegations of child molestation.
“We carry no responsibility for any of Chinmoy Krishna Das’ statements or actions,” Charu Chandra Das emphasized. He also refuted any connection between ISKCON Bangladesh and recent political developments, including remarks by India’s Ministry of External Affairs regarding Chinmoy Krishna Das.
Regarding the tragic death of lawyer Saiful Islam Alif in Chittagong, Charu Chandra Das denied ISKCON’s involvement, labeling claims that the organization was connected to road accidents or protests as “false narratives.”
“Several months ago, individuals including Leelaraj Gour Das, Gaurang Das, and Chinmoy Krishna Das were removed from their positions due to breaches of discipline. These actions were clearly not representative of ISKCON,” he added.
In a related development, Chattogram police have filed three separate cases in connection with a violent clash on Tuesday at the Chattogram court premises.
