Supporters of BNP leader Ishraque Hossain protested again for the 4th day on Monday by blocking the main gate of the Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) headquarters, Nagar Bhaban.
Besides, hundreds of BNP activists also blocked the Purana Paltan-Bangshal road in Gulistan area, demanding the government appoint BNP leader Ishraque Hossain as the mayor of DSCC.
At the time, Ishraque supporters blocked one side of the road in the Gulistan Mazar area from 10 am to 4 pm. They blocked the road with trucks and ropes. As a result, severe traffic jams occurred on the Gulistan Sadarghat road.

Local Government and Rural Development Adviser Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuiyan was behind the crisis, the BNP members said, demanding Asif’s resignation.
They warned the blockade would continue until Ishraque is appointed as the DSCC mayor, and threatened stricter movement in the coming days.
The current standoff has added new tension to the already heated political landscape, with BNP activists vowing to continue their movement until their demands are met.
