1st Test against Tigers: Ireland score 270/8 on Day 1

Ireland Cricket team scored 270 for the loss of eight wickets on Day 1 in the first Test against Bangladesh Cricket team at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium on Tuesday.
After winning in the coin session, Ireland had a poor start as promising right-arm fast bowler of Tigers Hasan Mahmud gave an early breakthrough as opener Andrew Balbirnie (0) was trapped leg before wicket by the promising pacer when Ireland’s score was naught.
After Andrew’s dismissal, opener Paul Stirling and one-down Cade Carmichael repaired the damage adding together 96 runs for the second wicket partnership before Paul Stirling was caught at the second slip by Shadman Islam off Nahid Rana when Ireland’s total was 96.
Paul notched up 60 runs. His 76-ball innings was studded with nine fours.
Right-arm spinner Mehedi Hasan Miraz hit as second-down Harry Tector (1) was trapped leg before wicket by right-arm spinner when the home side’s score was 97 for the loss of three wickets.
Cade Carmichael and Curtis Campher built a worthy partnership scoring together 53 runs in the third wicket stand before Cade was caught by at the slip by Najmul Hossain Shanto off Mehidy Hasan Miraz when the tourists’ score was 150 for the loss of four wickets.
Cade hit 59. His 129-ball knock was laced with seven fours.
Curtis and Lorcan Tucker added together 53 runs in the fifth wicket stand before Curtis was caught at the first slip by Najul Hossain Shanto off Hasan Murad when the touring side’s total was 203 for the loss of five wickets.
Curtis made 44 from 94 balls featuring four fours and two sixes.
Lorcan Tucker (41) was stumped out by Litton Das off Hasan Murad when Ireland’s total was 218 for the loss of six wickets.
Miraz struck as Andy McBrine (5) was stumped out by Litton Das off the right-arm spinner when Ireland’s score was 222 for the loss of seven wickets.
Jordan Neil (30) was trapped leg before wicket by Taijul Islam before the two umpires pocketed the bails for the first day. Barry McCarthy remained unbeaten with 21 runs.
Miraz grabbed three wickets in the space of 50 runs, while Hasan Murad bagged two wickets at the cost of 47 runs.
Hasan Mahmud, Nahid Rana and Taijul Islam took one wicket apiece.
