After inclusion of Hamza Choudhury and Shamit Shome there is a renaissance seen in Bangladesh’s football.
Apart from the popularity of football competition for Bangladesh National Football team, Bangladesh National Women’s Football team and domestic football competition, popularity has also touched futsal.
Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) has taken a giant step to increase the futsal. BFF has appointed an international Iranian coach for the development of futsal of Bangladesh. The name of the Futsal Coach is Saeid Khodarahmi.
Speaking at press briefing on Sunday Saeid Khodarahmi said, ” Futsal has born in Bangladesh. Futsal is still now a baby in Bangladesh, while futsal is a university in Iran if I compare between Bangladesh and Iran.
My duty is to bring Bangladesh’s futsal in a good shape,” There are futsal stadiums in the every village of Iran.
On the other hand, there is no infrastructure of futsal in Bangladesh. But Saeid Khodarahmi is still optimistic.
Khodarahmi said, ” When I took my duty of as futsal coach of Myanmar, the same condition was also in that country. But now they have developed their position.
I want Bangladesh can also improve their position in futsal. So, the people of Bangladesh will also remember me.”
Khodarahmi has engaged with the coaching of football for two eras. He was not only coach of Iran but also the coach of Myanmar Men’s Futsal team and also Myanmar Women’s Futsal team.
According to the latest international futsal rankings, Myanmar have taken the 80th position from 103rd spot.
The Asian Cup Futsal Qualifiers will be held in September in Malaysia. Bangladesh will take part for the first time in their history of futsal.
The other teams are: Malaysia, Iran and the United Arab Emirates. Bangladesh will take in the qualification matches under supervision of Coach Saeid Khodarahmi. Bangladesh will play three matches.
To cit a brilliant figure in that competition is a tough task. Khodarahmi said, ” The challenge is tough but not impossible.”
A total of 53 players have been taking part in the preliminary trial. A number of 24 futsal players list will be submitted at the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) before August 19. The final squad will be consist of 14 futsal players including two goalkeepers.
