A plea has been made to save the Narsunda River, which flows through the center of Kishoreganj town. This plea was made by holding a discussion meeting and forming a human chain at the open platform on the banks of the Narsunda River on Saturday, marking the International River Day.

. The meeting was addressed M. A. Gani presided over. It was addressed among others, Senior journalist, Writer Abdul Latif, Atiya Hossain of Mohila Parishad, Associate Professor Karim Ullah of Gorudhyal Government College , Sheikh Mehedi Hasan and Retired Banker Firoz Uddin Bhuiyan. People from different walks of life in the town participated in this program and expressed their desire to save Narsunda.
