Under the auspices of the South-Western Region of Bangladesh branch of International Recitation of (the holy) Quran (IQR) an international recitation from the holy Quran competition was held at Digraj bus stand premises of Mongla Port town under Mongla Upazila in Bagerhat district on Sunday (Dec. 22) afternoon and it continued till the late hours.
In the recitation (correctly) function a number of Quaries (those who can recite the holy Qur-an correctly), Mohaddesins (who are well versed in Hadith) and Islamic scholars were present from as many as 5 foreign countries. Thousands of people irrespective of religions attended the function to listen the recitation from the holy Qur-an in melody tone.
In the function some internationally famous Quaries like Shaeikh Qauri Abdul Hafiz Addurunki from Mysore, Shaeikh Quari Fardan Adam from South Africa, Shaeikh Quari Eidy Shaban and Shaeikh Quari Rajai Ayub from Tanjania, Shaeikh Quari Zisan Hanif and Shaeikh Quari Salman Habib from Pakistan, Shaikh Quari Abu Muhammad Aswad from India and Shaeikh Quari Abdur Raman, Atullah Azadi and Anwar Hossain from Bangladesh. Those invited guest Quaris recited some verses from the holy Quran.
In the function of the recitation of verses from the holy Qur-an agronomist and a BNP central leader Shamimur Rahman Shamim, Advocate Mawlana Wadud, Ameer of Bagerhat district unit of Bangladesh Jamate Islam, Prof. Kohinoor Sardar, a Jamat leader, Uday Shangkar Biswas, UP Chairman of Burirdanga and Social worker Nasir Hawladar were present in the function.
