Odhikar has called on human rights activists to stand united against human rights violations in the country.
This was the call made by guests and human rights activists at the exchange of views organized by Odhikar at Feni Press Club last Wednesday morning.
Former president of Feni Press Club and veteran journalist AKM Abdur Rahim presided over the meeting, and Rawshan Ara Begum, mother of missing person Mahbubur Rahman Ripone, was the chief guest.
Odhikar Feni’s focal person, journalist Nazmul Haque Shamim, moderated the keynote speech, while Shahjalal Bhuiyan, executive editor of human rights organizer Daily Ajeyo Bangla, read the main article.
The special guests were former president of Feni Press Club Rabiul Haque Robi, Muhammad Abu Taher Bhuiyan, General Secretary of Feni for Sujan-Sushasan, Mohammad Shahadat Hossain, Central Secretary General of Bangladesh Primary.
Teachers Association Mohi Uddin Khondoker, President of JASAS Feni branch, cultural organizer Kazi Iqbal Ahmed Paran, and advisor of Feni Bandhushaba Sheikh Nur Uddin Chowdhury Mamun.
The speakers included Weekly Swadespatra editor NN Jiban, Chief Editor of Daily Suprabhat Feni Firoz Alam, General Secretary of Feni Journalist Union Syed Monir, Chairman of Ekta Mahila Unnayan Sangstha Rokeya Islam, July fighter Md. Abul Hasan Shahin in the 24th movement, Mahfuzur Rahman Shipu, brother of missing person Ripon, and others.
The meeting was attended by journalists, human rights organizers, and people from different classes and professions. After the exchange of views, they formed a human chain in front of the Feni Press Club.
