A three-day long International conference on Quantum Photonics, Artificial Intelligence and Networking (QPAIN 2025) successfully concluded at Bangladesh Army University of Science and Technology (BAUST), Saidpur.
Renowned researchers, academicians and technologists from 25 countries of the world participated in this conference, organised from July 31 to August 2. The first two days of the conference were held online and the last day was held in a live session at BAUST campus, says a press release.
This conference is jointly organised by IEEE Photonics Society and Bangladesh Army University of Science and Technology (BAUST).
More than 1800 research papers were submitted in various fields of modern technology including Quantum Photonics, Artificial Intelligence, Networking, from which 500 papers were selected through a review process. Out of these, 190 papers were presented directly at the BAUST campus.
In another important event organized on the same day, the Honorable Vice Chancellor of the University, Brigadier General Mohammad Mobarak Hossain Majumder, PSC, officially inaugurated the IEEE BAUST Student Branch.
This international platform will play an important role in developing the knowledge, research, technical skills and leadership of engineering students. Through this, students will get the opportunity to participate in various workshops, training, competitions and research projects, which will add a new dimension to their professional development.
The special guest at the event organized to mark the inauguration of the Student Branch was Dr. Mukit M. Rana, who inspired the students by highlighting the importance of IEEE and research.
The keynote speeches were delivered by representatives of the IEEE Photonics Society, Md. Mainul Islam and Md. Tabil Ahmed.
The event was presided over by Dr. Rubina Akhter, Head of the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE).
The Honorable Vice Chancellor of the University said in his speech, “There is no alternative to technology-based research for human welfare. IEEE Student Branch will engage students in research-based practices that will make a strong contribution to their careers and the progress of the country.”
At the end of his speech, he officially announced the inauguration of IEEE BAUST Student Branch. Then, a cake was cut on the occasion of the inauguration ceremony.
