International Anti-Corruption Day was observed in Khulna on Tuesday with the theme ‘Youth Unity Against Corruption: Building the Purity of the Future’.
On this occasion, Khulna Divisional Commissioner Md. Mokhtar Ahmed was the chief guest at the discussion meeting held in the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner in the morning.
The chief guest at the meeting, the Divisional Commissioner said, corruption is a social disease. We have to start fighting corruption with ourselves.
If we can change our thinking and practice honesty, then we can get rid of this disease.
The conscience of those who commit corruption does not work properly, it dies.
If we can utilize the power of youth, something good will happen in fighting corruption.
If we can fulfill the rights of others and fulfill our responsibilities, there will be no need for law to fight corruption.

The event was chaired by Jamshed Khandaker and special guests included Metropolitan Additional Police Commissioner Mohammad Rashidul Islam Khan, Additional DIG Joynuddin, Director of the Anti-Corruption Commission Khulna Divisional Office Jalal Uddin Ahmed, Superintendent of Police Mohammad Mahbubur Rahman and President of the District Corruption Prevention Committee Professor Moni Mohan Saha.
Deputy Director of the Anti-Corruption Commission Integrated District Office Md. Abdul Wadud delivered the welcome speech.
