The International Women’s Day was observed in the district on Saturday as elsewhere of the country with a call to work for women’s night, empowerment and gender equality.
Kishoreganj district administration and Women and Children Affairs. Directorate jointly organised a discussion on ‘Equality for women is progress for all’ held at local Art Council Hall with Sader UNO Subrato Paul in the chair. Deputy Commissioner S.M. Alam attended as chief guest.
It was addressed among others by District Women Affairs Officer Kamija Yesmin, Advocate Nasiruddin Farooki, Saiful Quddus of Popi, Mahila Parishad President Rajia Sultana and Khaleda Fency Lona. A cultural function was held marking the day.
