To stay in power at any cost, the fascist Sheikh Hasina ordered a massacre to suppress the July Uprising last year.

The government disappeared many bodies to reduce the number of martyrs in the massacre. Many were buried as unclaimed bodies in various places.

The government confiscated registration books from various government and private hospitals. Many of the injured were not admitted to hospitals due to government threats.

Many of those who were admitted and died in hospitals, their names were not included in the registration books.

As a result, many families of those killed in the massacre in various places in the capital have not found any trace of them.

After Hasina’s fall, the families of many martyrs who went missing are desperately searching for the bodies of their relatives.

According to media reports, 114 martyrs of the July Revolution were buried in Rayerbazar cemetery without identification. Many were also killed in the Jatrabari and Mirpur areas.

Many families have appealed to the government to return the bodies of their children. Some families have filed lawsuits to return the bodies of their children.

Following the court’s verdict, the government has taken the initiative to exhume the bodies of 114 people buried as unidentified people from the Rayerbazar cemetery and determine their identities.

The work of exhuming graves and exhuming bodies to identify them has begun in Rayerbazar since last Sunday.

The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the police is involved in this work.

The DNA samples of the deceased will be matched with those of their relatives to identify them.

The CID has informed that the bodies of unidentified martyrs of the July Revolution are being exhumed in accordance with international protocols.

Forensic experts have been brought from Argentina through the United Nations Human Rights Organization and they are leading this work.

They led such operations in 65 countries over the last 40 years. The CID chief, who was present during the grave digging, said, “It is our sacred duty to identify those lying nameless in this cemetery and return them to their families.”

Many martyred families have waited for months to find their loved ones. We want to free the country from the burden of this pain.

We completely agree with the statement of the CID chief regarding the exhumation of the bodies of unidentified martyrs.

Our statement on this matter is that not only the 114 people, but also the families whose deceased relatives have not found any trace of them even today, they need to make a list of all of them and arrange for the bodies to be returned to the families.
