The government is set to form the Information Commission soon, according to a press release from the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.
The ministry has already taken necessary steps, and a formal notification regarding the commission’s formation will be issued within the next few days.
As per the Right to Information Act, 2009, the commission will consist of one Chief Information Commissioner and two Information Commissioners. At least one of the two commissioners will be a woman.
