Indian Visa Services to Resume Soon: Envoy Verma

Pranay Kumar Verma, the Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh, visited the historic Durga Temple at Kumudini Homes in Mirzapur, Tangail, on Monday (29 September) evening. He was warmly received by the officials of Kumudini Welfare Trust with floral greetings.

During the visit, High Commissioner Verma emphasized the deep-rooted historical ties between Bangladesh and India. “Our friendship is built on shared cultural and religious values. We believe this exchange strengthens our bilateral relationship,” he said. He assured that the ongoing visa-related complexities would be resolved very soon. “Currently, medical visas are already operational,” he added.

Kumudini Trust officials briefed the High Commissioner on the temple’s heritage and ongoing restoration efforts.

The visit was also attended by Rajib Prasad Saha, Managing Director of Kumudini Welfare Trust, Canadian High Commissioner Ajit Singh, Nepalese Ambassador Ghanshyam Bhandari, and local administration officials.

Members of the local Hindu community expressed hope that this visit would further enhance mutual understanding and cooperation between the two nations.
