The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has rejected International Cricket Council (ICC)’s offer to host the upcoming Women’s T20 World Cup (WC) in October, confirmed by the BCCI Secretary Jay Shah.
The ICC was considering a shift the T20 World Cup due to the ongoing political unrest in Bangladesh following anti-government protests that led to several deaths in the country.
According to Times of India, the ICC is expected to make the final decision on August 20. With India has withdrawn their name as hosts, Sri Lanka and the UAE are the possible alternatives for the tournament scheduled to be held from October 3-20.
