Following directives from the National Board of Revenue, the Narayanganj Tax Zone launched “Income Tax Information Service Month” for November 2024 to facilitate tax return submissions and issuance of receipts for taxpayers. On Sunday, Tax Commissioner Muhammad Aminur Rahman inaugurated the month-long programme.
The inauguration was attended by Joint Commissioner Ms. Ferdousi Hossain of Inspection Range-3, Deputy Commissioners from the headquarters (Administration and Practical), along with other officials, employees of the Narayanganj Tax Zone, and esteemed taxpayers.
Following the inauguration, the Tax Commissioner instructed all levels of staff to offer dedicated support to taxpayers throughout November 2024 as part of this service month.
Additionally, he mentioned that similar activities for “Income Tax Information Service Month” are being carried out in other tax offices within the Narayanganj and Munshiganj districts.
It should be noted that for the 2024-2025 tax year, online tax return submissions have been made mandatory for employees of government mobile telecom service providers located within the Narayanganj City Corporation, as well as for employees of Unilever Bangladesh Ltd., British American Tobacco Bangladesh Co. Ltd., Marico Bangladesh Ltd., Berger Paints Bangladesh Ltd., Bata Shoe Company (Bangladesh) Ltd., and Nestlé Bangladesh PLC.
To support these taxpayers with online return submissions, separate e-tax booths have been set up in the Narayanganj Tax Zone.
