Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty’s Mumbai residence has been raided by Income Tax officials. The searches were conducted on the basis of allegations of fraud of Rs 60 crore.
The Income Tax department also conducted searches at Shilpa’s restaurant ‘Bastian’ in Dadar.
However, her lawyer has claimed that this news is baseless. He has clarified that no income tax ‘raid’ was conducted against Shilpa; rather, it was part of a regular verification process.
In a statement issued on behalf of the actress, lawyer Prashant Patil said, “There was no Income Tax raid against Shilpa Shetty Kundra.
The Income Tax officials merely verified the information as part of their regular follow-up verification.”
