Bangladesh-origin expatriate of England Imranur Rahman became the Fastest Man of the Country on Friday. Imranur Rahman finished his 100metre sprint clocking 10.64 seconds at the track of the National Stadium. Imranur Rahman took part in the race for Bangladesh Navy.
He did not participate in the National Athletics Competition, which was held February last. Ismail Hossain of Bangladesh Navy became the Fastest Man of the Country after taking part in that competition. Imranur Rahman took part in the Summer Athletics Competition and he returned to the athletics and also regained his title of the Fastest Man of the Country.
After becoming the Fastest Man of the Country, Imranur Rahman said, ” I am thanking to Bangladesh Navy for give chance to compete in the race. I had been suffering from injury for seven months. I also underwent surgery. I had passed a bad time. After that, I became the Fastest Man of the Country and I feel good.”
Though Imranur Rahman became the Fastest Man of the Country, but his timing was not up to the mark. Imranur Rahman said, ” This timing is appropriate for this time. Because I was out of field for three months. I could not take part in my practice sessions for two to three months. I want to cut a brilliant figure in the upcoming South Asian Games.”
Ismail Hossain of Bangladesh Navy finished third in the 100metre sprint clocking 10.88 seconds. Abdul Motaleb of Bangladesh Army became second in the 100metre sprint after finishing his race taking 10.86 seconds.
