Impact Initiative distributes wheelchairs in Sylhet

Divisional Commissioner of Sylhet (Additional Secretary) Khan Muhammad Reza-un-Nabi distributed wheelchairs among the disabled.

Speaking as the chief guest at a wheelchair distribution programme organized by Impact Initiative at a community center in the city’s Dhopadighi area at 3 pm on Wednesday (August 13),
he said that distributing wheelchairs among the physically challenged and those injured in accidents is an important public service. Through the distribution of wheelchairs, the physically challenged can move independently in the society and their quality of life improves.
He said that Impact Initiative is working to improve the quality of life of the backward people of the society. This organization is creating skilled human resources by training unemployed youth and is playing an important role in eliminating unemployment. Such activities are highly commendable. Such activities will take the neglected people of the society forward. If various private organizations and organizations along with the government come forward for such charitable work, the physically challenged will benefit even more.

The event was moderated by Impact Initiative CEO Enayet Hossain Zakaria, and Maulana Habibur Rahman, Chairman of Ibn Sina Hospital and Vice President of the Red Crescent Society, spoke as a special guest.
Sylhet Divisional Sports Committee member and senior member of Habiganj Red Crescent Unit Md. Shahjahan Ali, Impact Initiative Program Officer Abdullah Al Amin, Finance Officer Md. Nur Alam and others were present.
It is to be noted that Impact Initiative is distributing 500 wheels and 500 walking sticks to the physically challenged and accident-affected people across the country. In continuation of this, distribution of 148 wheelchairs and 80 walking sticks has started in Sylhet region. On Wednesday, 48 wheelchairs were distributed in the suburbs and city corporation areas. On Thursday, 100 wheelchairs and 80 walking sticks will be distributed in Golapganj area.
