Illegal sand extraction in Madukhali

A mobile court has imposed a fine for illegally extracting sand from the land in Madhukhali upazila of Faridpur. The owner of a shoe factory in Zobair, adjacent to Chandana River in the upazila, has been fined Tk. 10 lakh for lifting sand and soil from Khas land.

MadukhaliUpazila Executive Officer and Executive Magistrate Mamnoon Ahmed Aneek conducted this operation on Monday afternoon.

Assistant Commissioner (Land) ErfanurRahman, SI Ajay Kumar of Madukhali Police Station were present at this time.

Upazila Nirbahi Officer Mamnoon Ahmed Aneek said on the basis of secret information, the mobile court was conducted there after receiving the news of illegal extraction of soil and sand from Chandana River.

After going to the spot and finding the truth, under the Balumhal and Soil Management Act 2010, Jubair Shoe Factory was fined Tk 10 lakh.
