Halda becomes reckless as a class of unscrupulous
fish hunters.
Even after destroying
various equipment including illegal nets and fishing boats in day and night administration operations, their mischief cannot be suppressed.
However, those associated with Halda say that besides identifying and punishing those involved in illegal net seizure and fishing, incentives to fishermen are also necessary. According to sources, besides the government’s ban on fishing in Halda, no nets can be thrown. Besides, engine-powered boats cannot be operated. However, disregarding such restrictions, dishonest fish hunters continue their activities day and night from the mouth of the river Kachukhain and Mohra to Nangalmora of Hathazari upazila.
