Illegal brick kilns causing health hazard in haors

Illegal brick kilns operating near educational institutions, and residential areas pose a significant health hezard due to air pollution and other environmental concerns.
Unauthorised brick kiln operations are underway next to multiple educational institutions in haor areas of Kishoreganj, ignoring regulations.
Brick kilns are being illegally operated near several education institutions in Kursha village of Nikli haor upazila, ignoring the rules.
This is putting the health of school students at risk. According to the Brick Manufacturing and Kiln Establishment (Control) Act-2013, no brick kiln can be established within one kilometer of residential areas, educational institutions and agricultural land.
But Kamal Bricks is running a brick kiln in violation of this law.
According to local sources, there is a government primary school, Dakhil Madrasa, Qawmi Madrasa and an orphanage in Nikli’s Kursha village.
A kiln called Kamal Bricks’ has been built in the area adjacent to these educational institutions and bricks are being burnt year after year. The kiln does not exist in the government list. There is no clearance certificate from the Department of Environment, license from the District Commissioner and permission for burning. Despite this, the brick kiln is operating.
