A mobile court led by Chauddagram Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md. Rahmat Ullah conducted an operation at RM Bricks in Kashinagar Union on Monday (February 12). The brick kiln was found operating without a valid license, violating the Brick Manufacturing and Kiln Establishment (Control) (Amendment) Act, 2019. Consequently, the owner was fined Tk 2 lakh.
Assistant Commissioner (Land) Zakia Sarwar Lima led the mobile court operation and confirmed that strict action will continue against illegal brick kilns.
She stated that the campaign against illegal brick kilns will persist to ensure environmental conservation and legal compliance.
Local residents have appreciated the administration’s proactive measures in regulating illegal brick kilns and protecting the environment.
