Kolkata’s TV actress Idhika Paul made her big screen debut by acting in the movie ‘Priyotoma’ directed by Himel Ashraf, which was released on June 29, 2023.
With the release of ‘Priyotoma’, she has successfully added the title of heroine to her name.
This film is considered a turning point in Bangladeshi cinema, especially in Shakib Khan’s career.
And in this film, Idhika made a place in the hearts of Bangladeshi audiences with her first film, acting opposite Shakib Khan.
The fame that a ‘Priyotoma’ brought her to the audience of both Bengals turned her into a superstar overnight.
Idhika Paul was also at the top of the discussion last year after acting in the movie ‘Khadan’, which was released opposite Dev in Kolkata.
This Eid-ul-Fitr, in Bangladesh, Idhika Paul’s second movie ‘Borbaad,’ directed by Mehedi Hasan Hridoy, was released. Shakib Khan was opposite Idhika in this movie too.

Overwhelmed by the overwhelming success of ‘Priyotoma’ to ‘Borbaad’, Idhika Paul told this correspondent from Kolkata, “The experience of working in ‘Priyotoma’ was actually different because it was my first film – a very emotional ‘Priyotoma.’ Since it was my first movie, I had this thought in my mind that I had to do very well to win the love of the audience. But in the case of ‘Borbaad’, the thing was that I had to work harder so that it was at least a step better than my previous performance. I had this in mind while working on ‘Borbaad’ – to be able to meet the expectations that the audience has created around me. And this was my second film with Shakib Khan; I also thought that the love that the audience has given to this couple would increase even more in ‘Borbaad’. Overall, given the response that has been received since the release of ‘Borbaad’, I can say that all my expectations have been fulfilled. I’m especially grateful to all the viewers in Bangladesh. I’m indebted to their loves.”
Idhika said that she has already completed work on Akash Malakar’s film ‘Bahuroop’ opposite Soham.
She is currently busy working on the movie ‘Raghu Dakat’, in which he stars opposite Dev.
