The Chief Prosecutor of the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT), Advocate Tazul Islam, has said that the courtroom has been equipped with digital technology to conduct live the trials of crimes against humanity committed in July-August.
He shared this information in a Facebook post on Tuesday.
In the post, Tazul Islam wrote, “Any phase of the judicial trial may be broadcast in the media or on social platforms either live or as a recorded version, subject to court approval.”
Meanwhile, the High Court has issued a rule asking why instructions should not be given to broadcast the hearings of important and constitutional cases filed in the Supreme Court live.
The High Court bench of Justice Habibul Gani and Justice Syed Mohammad Tajrul Hossain issued the rule. Advocate Mohammad Shishir Monir appeared in court on behalf of the writ petitioners.
On January 27, a writ was filed seeking a directive to broadcast the hearings of important and constitutional cases in the Supreme Court live.
A total of 10 people, including lawyers and law students, filed the writ.
