ICT seeks report on Hasina by June 24

The International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) has ordered that the investigation report concerning ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, accused of crimes against humanity, be submitted by June 24.

The three-member ICT panel led by Chairman Justice Md. Golam Mortuza Mojumdar issued the order on Sunday following a petition by the prosecution.

On the same day, 19 individuals, including former ministers and state ministers, were presented before the tribunal in connection with crimes against humanity committed during the July-August mass uprising.

The accused include former ministers of the Awami League government: Anisul Huq, Faruk Khan, Dr. Dipu Moni, Abdur Razzak, Shajahan Khan, Golam Dastagir Gazi, Amir Hossain Amu, Kamrul Islam, Rashed Khan Menon, and Hasanul Haq Inu; former advisers to the Prime Minister Taufiq-e-Elahi Chowdhury and Salman F Rahman; former state ministers Kamal Ahmed Majumder and Zunaid Ahmed Palak; former MP Sulaiman Selim; former Appellate Division Justice A.H.M. Shamsuddin Chowdhury Manik; former Home Secretary Jahangir Alam; former IGP Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun; and former Director General of the National Telecommunication Monitoring Center (NTMC) Ziaul Ahsan.

Earlier on February 18, the tribunal set April 20 as the date for presenting the 19 accused, including 12 ministers and state ministers and two former advisers to the prime minister.
