ICMAB hosts 4th Accounting Educators’ Confce 2025

The Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Bangladesh (ICMAB) held the 4th Accounting Educators’ Conference 2025 on Friday at ICMAB Ruhul Quddus Auditorium, Nilkhet, Dhaka with the theme “Accounting Education for Sustainable Development and Good Governance”.

The event raised the urgent need for closer ties between academia and the profession to equip future accountants for a fast-changing business world. More than 100 educators from 70 universities and colleges across 21 districts joined the conference. Interactive Q and A sessions kept discussions lively, making the event a true exchange of ideas, says a press release.

The conference was inaugurated by Prof. Dr. ASM Amanullah, Vice-Chancellor of National University, who praised ICMAB’s efforts to unite educators and professionals. He said such initiatives ensure that graduates remain strong in fundamentals while also being ready to face the shifting global accounting landscape. ICMAB President Mahtab Uddin Ahmed FCMA, attending as Guest of Honor, reaffirmed the Institute’s commitment to developing both educators and professionals.

He urged participants to take the learnings from the sessions back to their classrooms to amplify the impact.

The day opened with a Welcome Address by Jamal Ahmed Choudhury FCMA, Past President and Council Member, ICMAB, followed by remarks from Md. Kausar Alam FCMA, Vice-President of ICMAB and Chairman of the Education Committee, and a keynote on “ICMAB and the CMA Profession” by Dr. Nikhil Chandra Shil FCMA.
