The International Cricket Council (ICC) Women’s World Cup (WC) One Day International (ODI) will be held in September in India. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) confirmed this matter on Saturday.
The fixture of the gala cricket tournament for women have not yet finalised.
If everything goes well the inaugural ceremony will be at Visakhapatnam. The opening match will be also take place there.
The other venues are: Mullanpur in Punjab, Indore in Madhya Pradesh, Thiruvananthapurnam in Kerela, Guwahati in Assam.
The Apex Council meeting of BCCI was held on Saturday and all these maters were finalised.
A total of eight teams have will take part in this mega event. Of them, a number of six team’s already confirmed their participation in this tournament.
They are: Australia, England, New Zealand, South Africa, India and Sri Lanka.
A number of six teams will compete in the qualifying round, which is scheduled to be held in Pakistan. Two teams will get tickets of the final round.
If Pakistan can qualify for the final round of the competition all the matches for Pakistan will be held in Sri Lanka. If Pakistan can take place in the final round the match between Pakistan and India will be held in Sri Lanka.
The qualifying round of Women’s World Cup will be held held from April 9 to April 19.
