ICAO training course certificate distribution ceremony held

Under the supervision of the Civil Aviation Academy, a ceremony was held to hand over the plaque recognising ICAO TRAINAIR PLUS Gold Membership, along with certificate distribution for the successful completion of four ICAO-conducted training courses on Thursday. These courses include: the ICAO Training Instructors Course (TIC), ICAO Training Managers Course (TMC), ICAO Oversight of Competency-Based Training Course (OCBT), and ICAO Personnel Licensing System Course (PEL). The event took place at the auditorium of the CAAB (Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh) headquarters.
It is worth mentioning that two of the four courses were conducted by the Director of the Civil Aviation Academy, Prasanta Kumar Chakraborty, while the other two were conducted by ICAO Senior Instructor Captain Mostafa Hummady.
During the ceremony, the Chairman of CAAB officially handed over the ICAO TRAINAIR PLUS Gold Membership certificate and plaque to the Civil Aviation Academy. The Academy was promoted from ICAO TRAINAIR PLUS Silver to Gold Membership in January 2025 – a significant milestone for Bangladesh that elevates the academy to the status of an internationally recognized training institution. From 2023 to 2025, the Academy conducted a total of 18 ICAO training courses, with 211 national and 30 international participants.
The event’s Chief Guest was the Chairman of CAAB, Air Vice Marshal Md Monjur Kabir Bhuiyan, OSP, BUP, ndc, nswc, afwc, psc. The Special Guest and Chair of the session was Air Commodore Abu Sayeed Mehboob Khan, BSP, BUP, ndc, psc, Member (Operations and Planning) of CAAB.
Other distinguished attendees included CAAB members, the Chief Engineer, ICAO Senior Instructor Captain Mostafa Hummady, and officials from various departments of CAAB. The welcome speech was delivered by the Director of the Civil Aviation Academy, Mr. Prasanta Kumar Chakraborty.
In his speech, the Chief Guest stated that achieving ICAO TRAINAIR PLUS Gold Membership is a matter of pride for Bangladesh, as it marks international recognition of the country’s aviation training standards. He credited this success to the dedication, hard work, and competence of the Academy’s staff. He emphasized that this recognition brings added responsibility to further enhance workforce capabilities using ICAO’s training platforms. The CAAB Chairman assured full support for the Academy’s training programs and called for collective efforts to sustain this achievement.
