Mohammad Refaul Karim Chowdhury was elected as Chairman while Mahmudur Rahman as Secretary of the Dhaka Regional Committee (DRC) of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh (ICAB).
The election was held recently at a meeting. Their fresh term gets effective from January 1, 2025, said an ICAB press release on Wednesday.
Mohammad Refaul Karim Chowdhury, born in 1982 in Chattogram, is a Fellow Member of ICAB, IFA (UK), and IPA (Australia).
A qualified Chartered Accountant since 2011; he is also a VAT Consultant, Microsoft Certified Trainer, and Certified Financial Modeler & Valuation Analyst.
Currently serving as DGM-Finance at Transcom Distribution Company Ltd, he has held roles across various industries, including telecommunication, ITES, RMG, real estate, and autonomous bodies.
He has expertise in company affairs, secretarial work, IPO preparation, tax planning, financial modeling, business intelligence, and the integration and implementation of ERP systems.
As a dedicated trainer and faculty member of DRC-ICAB, Chowdhury has trained over 200 ICAB members and more than 4,000 students on topics including Excel, Financial Modeling, PowerPoint, VAT, and Income Tax.
