Sheikh Arif Bulbon :

After several years, popular film actress Pori Moni spent this Eid (Eid-ul-Azha) in her village home, Bhandaria in Pirojpur, which is her
grandparents’ house.
The actress spent much of her life there, including Pori’s childhood and adolescence.
When asked how Eid went, the popular actress said, “Whenever I go there, I feel good. I had a lot of fun. I was there for a while. It was just too hot. However, I enjoyed it very much.”
Pori Moni also said, “There is a lake some distance from home – a beautiful lake. I went there for a walk. I watched the sunset looking at the lake, how nice it was. I feel like I’m having the best time of my life. I feel like there’s nothing more beautiful than this.”
It is worth mentioning that Pori Moni lost her maternal grandfather Shamsul Haque Gazi in November 2023.
Nana (maternal grandfather) was the closest person to her.
Pori Moni lost her parents at a young age and grew up in her grandparents’ house.
When asked how much she misses her grandfather, Pori Moni told this correspondent, “My grandfather’s contribution to my life is great. I feel like he was close to me as long as I was here. Everyone should pray for him.”
Recalling her village, the heroine said, “Many people in my village thought I would treat them like a heroine, behave like a star, but no. To them, I am ‘Pori’. Even if I get the best award in the world, I will not be able to change myself to the people of the village. I don’t want to change for them. I want to remain what I was, for the rest of my life, among the people of the village.”
Pori Moni added, “When I go there, I become. The simplicity within me, the life I live in the village, that’s what I become. No matter how old I get, I want to remain the same ‘Pori’ I was before for them. This life is so beautiful.”
