I can’t win if I don’t wear a bikini: Methila
Entertainment Report :
Model and actress Tangia Zaman Methila is representing Bangladesh in the 74th edition of the world’s most prestigious beauty pageant, ‘Miss Universe.’
After winning the crown of ‘Miss Universe Bangladesh 2025’ last September, she flew to Thailand, the main stage of the competition, carrying the country’s flag, in late October. Methila shared a video message from Thailand regarding the ongoing debate among netizens on social media. In it, she expressed her intense anger and disappointment towards the people of the country and highlighted the harsh reality of the competition.
In the video, Methila said, “I don’t care if people from other countries troll me, but the people of our country are seeing how much I’m struggling. If a good contestant from such a big country comes and tries so hard, so disciplined, does everything on time, puts in so much effort, learns so much, and does so much, but doesn’t get appreciation from the people of their own country, then it’s very painful.”
Regarding wearing a bikini, she said, “And how many times do I have to say that if I don’t wear a bikini, I won’t be able to make it to the top thirty. So you want me to win. So, if I want to win, then I have to wear a bikini. There’s actually no religion here. If I want to win here, if Bangladesh has to win, then I have to study.”
In her words, “This place is a very big place. There is competition with so many people and everyone is good. No one is bad here, everyone is good. So to compete with them, I have to do a lot better, and the people of my country have to come a lot further.”
