I can’t fit into every type of role now: Shimu

A decade ago, Sumaiya Shimu was immensely busy on the small screen. Viewers were captivated by the many dramas she acted in. However, after getting married, the actress has largely stepped away from acting. Her days are now spent with her husband, family, and children.

A few months ago, Shimu appeared in an OTT content project directed by Nuhash Humayun. Recently, she was seen at the special screening of the film Saba, starring Mehjabin Chowdhury. There, Shimu explained why she is no longer seen regularly in acting roles.

She said, “With time, many things change. Earlier, I used to prioritize acting above all else. Now, that’s not possible. I recently did a project on an OTT platform. I will try to appear on screen if such unique projects come along because now I can’t fit into every type of role. And I won’t do it either.”
