A housewife was murdered by her husband in the Sabuj Pally area under the Labonchara police station in Khulna city. The incident took place at Kashem Road No. 4 at around 6:30 am on Thursday.
The deceased housewife’s name is Dolly Begum (50). She is the wife of Md. Nazmul Hasan Molla of the same area.
When contacted, Hawladar Sanwar Hussain Masum, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Labonchara police station, in this regard, He told The New Nation Correspondent through Cell phone that after receiving information about Dolly Begum’s death from the locals, the Labonchara police station reached the spot, recovered the body and took the accused Nazmul into custody.
OC Sanwar also said that Nazmul is being interrogated and necessary legal action will be taken.
According to local sources, NazmulHasan killed his wife Dolly Begum with a fruit cutting knife on Thursday morning due to a family conflict . Later, neighbors heard screams and rushed to find the housewife in a bloody state.After the incident, angry locals arrested the murderer, tied him to a tree with a rope and informed the police.
After receiving the information, the Luanchara police station reached the spot, recovered the body and took the accused Nazmul into custody.
