A court here on Thursday convicted a man and sentenced him to life term imprisonment for killing his wife in 2002.
The convict was identified as Abdul Aziz alias Kashem of Jagannathpur village in Jagannathpur upazila.
The court also fined him TK 25,000, in default, to suffer six months more rigorous imprisonment.
According to prosecution, Sabutara Begum, daughter of Fazar Ali, was strangulated to death by his husband Abdul Aziz over family feud on June 16, 2002.
Fazar Ali filed a murder case with Jagannathpur Police Station on the following day.
After examining the records and witnesses Additional District and Sessions Judge Kazi Abdul Hannan handed down the verdict.
