Sylhet Bureau :

The Shahparan Police Station of SMP has arrested two accused in a case of forgery and cheating a London woman from Sylhet’s Osmani International Airport on Friday (January 10).
The arrested are Md. Abdul Gaffar Khan Liton (50), son of Abdush Shahid Khan of Takbazkhani village in Baniachang upazila of Habiganj, and his younger brother Milan Khan (45). A case of embezzlement through cheating has been registered against them at Shahparan Police Station of SMP.
According to police and court sources, Abdul Gaffar Khan Liton, the son of the late Husmat Mia of Barofechi village in Jagannathpur upazila of Sunamganj and the sister of Waris Mia, currently a resident of Dakshin Baluchar area under Shahparan police station, got married to Abdul Gaffar Khan Liton in 2011. After the marriage, the plaintiff’s sister took Abdul Gaffar Khan Liton to London. After going to London, his financial stability returned. Although the family was going well for a while, after having two children, Liton, under demonic persuasion, seduced the plaintiff’s sister and took money. Then, a year ago, he came to the country and arranged another marriage. When his sister realized the matter, she stopped him from getting married. This created unrest in the family. After that, several meetings were held with the Murabbayans at different times, but no solution was found. On the contrary, Liton resorted to fraud to avoid paying Kabin’s money.
Waris Mia filed a case of fraud and cheating at the Shahparan Police Station of SMP on January 1. Md. Abdul Gaffar Khan Liton (50) and his younger brother Milan Khan (45) were arrested by the police on Friday while trying to escape the case and flee to the UK.
Shahparan Police Station Officer-in-Charge Md. Monir Hossain confirmed the case and the arrest, saying that there is a case of fraud and cheating against the two arrested. They have been arrested in that case and sent to the court. The court has ordered them to be sent to jail.
