The affected villagers have formed a human chain in Srimangal, Moulvibazar to prevent the toxic waste dumping of Roshni Poly Fiber Company Limited and to prevent noise pollution from the company’s factory.
On Monday afternoon, people from all walks of life of Rajapara and Bade-Alisha villages in front of Roshni Poly Fiber Company in Raj Para village of Bhunbir Union of the upazila spoke at the human chain organized by former UP member of Bhunbir Union Abdul Ahad, villagers Mona Mia, Rasel Miah, Rahim Miah, Sohel Miah, Al Amin and others.
The speakers in the human chain said that the waste of Roshni Poly Fiber Company is directly dumped into the hills through pipes. Due to their mismanagement, cropland, fish in haors, and livestock are being severely damaged. Due to the establishment of this factory in the residential area of the village, machines are operated with loud noise day and night. Due to this, the villagers are suffering from noise pollution. Many are getting sick. The speakers complained that they are not getting any remedy despite complaining in various places about this.
