Human chain held in Chatmohar

A human chain was held to protest the suicide of Jahanara, a housewife from Uthuli village of Mathurapur union in Chatmohar upazila of Pabna, being taken to another category and the filing of a case of murder and abetment to suicide in the name of innocent people.

Yesterday, Wednesday Uthuli villagers organized this human chain in the Kathbadam Tala area of Chatmohar bypass road.

During the human chain, former member of Mathurapur union Mirajul Haque said, “My brother’s wife Jahanara Khatun committed suicide by hanging herself on June 5. On the same day, the police recovered the body and sent it for autopsy.

On that day, Jahanara’s husband Fazlur Rahman filed a case at the police station with me and 7 others, including my wife and children, as defendants on charges of abetment to suicide.”

Later, Jahanara’s brother Mamunul Haque filed a murder case against us in the Pabna court. Not only that, a group in the area using Fazlur Rahman also held a human chain and press conference against me and my family.

Mirajul Haque claimed that these allegations and cases are false. These are being done to harass us. Basically, Jahanara committed suicide. The autopsy report also came out that way.
