A huge human chain programme was held at Srimangal Railway Station on Saturday afternoon, demanding 8 points including the introduction of 2 special trains on the Sylhet-Dhaka and Sylhet-Cox’s Bazar railway routes, renovation of the Akhaura-Sylhet railway route and upgrading to a dual gauge double line.
The human chain organised by citizens from all walks of life was chaired by the Srimangal coordinator of the movement, Kaler Kantho district representative Saiful Islam, and led by Kulaura representative Mahfuz Shakil. One of the coordinators of the movement, Kulaura, spoke in solidarity.
